German Mortgages

Deutschbank are currently the only lender to offer 70% loan to value at 5.5% capital and repayment only for up to 30 years. It is also possible to obtain 100% interest-only mortgages in Germany although you must typically deposit 40% of the property value in a parallel fund. If you are self-employed you will typically only be able to borrow 56%. German mortgage products for overseas investors are slowly becoming better but by UK standards are still rather archaic. We cannot guarantee that you will be offered 70% loan to value as it very much depends on your status and personal circumstances. Before you apply for a mortgage you will need to make sure that you meet the criteria, and be prepared for lenders to offer you 60% or even 50% rather than the amount you were expecting. The minimum loan is €50,000; maximum is €1,000,000.
