Location

Even before the erection of the Wall, Berlin – like London – developed two centres: the historical core, now serving as the political centre of Germany, and the West End, Berlin’s major shopping area (depicted as blue points):

The Viktoria Park Residence is located centrally between these two areas in up-and-coming Kreuzberg, a young and lively district with beautiful buildings from the Wilhelminean (1887–1918) period that is currently seeing substantial infrastructural investments.

Viktoria Park – Bohemian Flair

Since the fall of the Berlin wall, the Viktoria Park area has seen a phenomenal interest from investors and tenants alike due to its proximity to both the West and the new East Berlin centre. The area (dubbed SO 61 after the old post code) was, and still is, a meeting ground for young and creative minded people. A large infrastructure of bars, restaurants, and shops has developed, increasing further the quality of life for its residents and thus its attraction for the investor.

    Additional Comments

Viktoria Park itself offers playgrounds, sport fields, a beer garden, and many more recreational facilities: it is only 2 minutes walk away from the property:

The nearby Bergmannstrasse (www.bergmannstrasse.de) is a popular locality, not only for residents of this area, but for all Berliners and tourists. In the summer the pavements are crowded with people strolling past the many shops or sitting outside the cafes and restaurants. The annual Bergmann fest attracts some 300,000 visitors in 3 day while the Karneval der Kulturen is an event very similar to the Notting Hill Carnival.

Towards its western end Bergmannstrasse leads to Marheineke market hall with its more than 50 permanent stands of international delicatessen and bio-food. The Chamissoplatz is the quarter neighbouring Bergmannstrasse along its southern side, and famous Riehmers Hofgarten, with their listed buildings add Parisian flair to this sought-after location in the heart of Germany‘s capital.
